How to evaluate:
The documents need to be considered in relation to:
- Sustainability of content for meeting the brief and usefulness in aiding the production team in producing the product.
- Suitability of content for the target audience.
Should use:
- Positive language
- Consideration for the original designer/creator
- Specific feedback on any suggested improvement- justifying why it would make the document more effective.
Evaluating a pre-production document (set diagram):
- Suitable- shows all the 'set' so you can see what will be shown on camera. The layout is clear and you can tell its a 'news show' or something along those lines.
- Clear genre of the show- studio based show.
- You can also tell where at least one of the camera is going to be-- however we don't know where the other cameras could be.
- No colours shown!
- & cant be floor plan as no camera/ lights shown etc...
- No measurements!
Evaluating a pre-production document (production schedule):
- Isn't clear about who needs to carry out these job roles
- Good colour coordination - each job has a different colour. Very clear
- Spelling mistake 'scedule'
- Doesn't say what month/ or week/ any dates! so this can be confusing
- You can see that it is a production schedule for an animated film
- Not particularly accurate in terms of timings
